STUDIO 05 — THE CURVED JACKET

STUDIO 02 is part of NMRO's ongoing research into permanent garments.

Rather than producing seasonal collections, NMRO develops a continuous body of work focused on proportion, material behaviour, construction and everyday use. Each piece exists because it contributes to that investigation.

This utility shirt has been developed as a functional study of the workwear shirt. Constructed from rigid 100% cotton denim, its structure is defined by a short-sleeve silhouette, integrated sleeves and a system of utility pockets of different proportions and capacities.

The absence of conventional armhole seams allows the body and sleeves to form a continuous construction, while contrasting topstitching reinforces the garment's functional character and makes its construction visible. The different pocket configurations are intended for practical use rather than decoration.

Its value does not lie in novelty, but in permanence. The objective is not to encourage accumulation, but to reduce clothing to fewer, better considered pieces that remain useful over time.

Fit

Designed with a relaxed, compact silhouette and generous proportions through the body and sleeves.

The jacket sits slightly away from the body while maintaining a relatively short length. The curved front construction creates additional visual volume without relying on conventional shaping or waist suppression.

Designed to be worn over a T-shirt, shirt or lightweight knitwear.

For a closer fit, consider ordering one size down.

Care

Machine wash cold (30°C).
Wash inside out with similar colours.
Do not bleach.
Do not tumble dry.
Iron at medium temperature.
Allow the garment to retain its natural shape while drying.

Due to the rigid nature of the denim, the fabric will soften progressively with use and washing. As with raw denim, variations in colour and surface may develop naturally over time.
